In 1976, Key Imports brought in this model built by Samhongsa in Korea. The original box and foam, from a D&RGW K - 59, show only slight shelf wear. The original label has an extra hand - drawn insert; check the photos. It was recently serviced with a full gearbox clean - out. The boiler was re - detailed, and the tender seems mostly scratch - built. This represents a Class 157 locomotive made by the American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, NY in 1923. It's a classic Joe G. Collias model, a well - detailed unique locomotive. Truly one - of - a - kind!

Using your HO brass locomotive is easy. Just connect it to an analog DC power source, and it'll start running. When operating, be aware that there's a moderate motor/gearbox noise, but that's normal for this model. Since it has no lighting, it won't light up during use. The Kadee couplers on the tender and the cast coupler on the locomotive pilot make it easy to connect to other train cars.
For maintenance, it was recently serviced with a full gearbox clean - out, but over time, you may want to clean the gearbox again. Check the wheels regularly for wear, though currently, the wear is minimal. The bare brass has moderate tarnish as there's no coating, so if you want to keep it looking good, you can use a gentle brass cleaner. When storing, keep it in the original box and foam to protect it from damage.
