This is a 1968 ALCO model imported and built by Kumata in Japan. The box has minimal shelf wear, and the original foam has been replaced with bubble wrap. It runs well, though a bit noisy, which is typical for early Alco models. The high hood 628s were first bought by N&W and used as heavy switchers at Lamberts Point for switching coal hoppers. Later, in the 1970s, C&NW bought them second - hand for ore service. It's a great example of a High Hood C628.

Using your HO scale brass ALCO C628 model is quite straightforward. Since it's an analog DC - only model, you'll need to connect it to a compatible DC power source. Just hook it up to the tracks, power it on, and watch it roll. It's a good runner, but keep in mind it might be a bit noisy, which is normal for early Alco models.
When it comes to handling, be gentle as these models are fragile, especially the brass parts. When storing, keep it in the original box with the bubble wrap to protect it from scratches and damage.
For maintenance, check the wheels regularly for any signs of excessive wear. If you notice the motor noise getting louder or the operation becoming less smooth, it might be time to give it a light clean. You can use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior and avoid getting any moisture on the motor or electrical components.
When shipping, we've already packed it in a bullet - proof way, but if you need to move it yourself, follow the same packing principles. And don't forget, if you're not satisfied with your purchase, we have a 30 - day money - back policy, just let us know!
